For the July 2021 Full Moon, we have organised our first official programme of events open to visitors. From the very beginning, the plan was to create an exciting and thought-provoking programme of events in the mill and the courtyard. So the first exhibition was a real milestone in our history, and we couldn't have picked a better time to hold it than on a mid-summer full moon weekend.
Szonja Koltay is a young MKE-graduate painter whose large-scale paintings, even imagined, showed us the "depths" of the mill in our minds, as our subconscious thoughts lurk in the innermost recesses of our souls.
The preparation for the exhibition was as symbolic as the weekend itself, as there was no perfect "white cube" of material waiting to be displayed. Sonja prepared and cleaned the "exhibition space", set up the installation and lighting with amazing motivation and perseverance. At the same time, the landscaping and the rooms were being put together. By Saturday, the picture had been put together and at 6pm the first exhibition in the recent history of the Great Vosgesony Mill officially opened.
